Phineas and Ferb- Where’s Perry?

Updated: Aug 10, 2022

As this quarantine has made us seem like we are having an endless summer, (well that and the record setting heat) then what better to do a theme with Phineas and Ferb! And it just so happens that their new movie: Cadance Against the Universe came out right at the perfect time. This is one of the children shows that we don’t mind watching as adults. Even though my kids don’t watch it anymore, we did put it on this week to rewatch and remember the show. The movie turned our to be very enjoyable to watch. One of the games I came up with when the girls were little was ‘Where’s Perry?’ (which is also one of the running bits in the show) where we had a stuffed Perry the Platypus that I hide in the house and the girls had to find him. We played it all week and it brought up some fun memories!

If you have never watched any episode, Phineas and Ferb try to make their summer days fun, while Candance (their sister) try’s to bust them all while the evil Dr. Doofensmirtz trys to defeat the secret agent Perry the Platypus with many—inators. So we decided to make an “-inator” ourselves and we engineered up a Bacon-inator. It was what it sounds like a burger and some bacon. However, we also picked up an aioli sauce to add some additional flavor to truly make in a Bacon-inator. No self-destruct button here though. For the sides on this one, we just had French Fries and Veggies with Ranch Dip. We also ate this outside and lit our tiki torches for a summer setting, even though it was about 100 degrees outside.

For our drink, we decided on Endless Summer Mai Tais, which was so refreshing! Exactly what you want for a summer cocktail. It consisted of OJ and Pineapple juice that we had already in the house then some Malibu and Dark Rum. For the girls drink, we used Sprite in place of the rums.

This dessert turned out to be one of my favorites, but not the girls. I was never much of a baker, maybe some cookies and brownies. And I still wouldn’t call myself a professional baker, but doing these weekly dinners has allowed me to try making many desserts that I never would have ever tried before. This particular one being one of them. So in this show, Doofensmirtz is from a fictional country, Drusselstein, and talks about Doonkleberry in some episodes. So I turned a fresh berry chantilly cake into our Doonkleberry cake. The cake was so moist and with the raspberry jam and fresh berries it turned out delicious! The icing doesn’t look the prettiest, but it sure tasted good!

This was overall a fun theme dinner. Thank you again for stopping by and reading. Comment below if you enjoyed any of your children’s shows more than them.
