Trolls Band Together

I know I say this a lot about anticipating a movie, but we were waiting for this movie to be able to stream. Jules did happen to see it before all of us as she went to a Trolls theme birthday party and watched it there. But she was happy to watch it again and do a themed dinner. We all loved the first one, and as I was a teenager and a huge fan of 90s boy bands, I was particularly looking forward to the reunion of N'Sync. Overall, it was a fun movie. Lots of humor, great songs to sing along too and the storyline was good!

It was a little difficult to come up with a main meal. Since we are past the Bergen's and them wanting to eat Trolls, I didn't want to focus the dinner on that and make Troll soup! We instead focus on the brother relationship in this movie and had Branch's Brotherly Love cheesesteaks. We made our own cheesesteaks with the best ingredient, Cheez Whiz! I can say that they turned out delicious and has been added in rotation to our dinner menus. They can also be as good as the real authentic ones in Philly! As I am from the Philadelphia area and ate my share of cheesesteaks, one of our favorite sides to have along with them are pierogies. My girls love these and the meal was an overall success!

Our drink was Poppy's Punch and it was super refreshing were Tyler and I might have had two! We have used ICE drinks in some of our other drinks we have done before and they just provide some sparkling flavor to them. We found these Starburst Strawberry flavor ICE drinks at the store and it was the perfect Poppy pink that we were looking for. To add alcohol to the adult drinks, we had Pink Lemonade Vodka and it worked perfectly. The last addition was cherry cotton candy to have our Troll hair. The only thing I didn't think of was the moment you add it to liquid, it dissolves. So in order to not have that happen, I put a clear top over the drink to not have the cotton candy and the drink mix until it was wanted to.

The Trolls are all about vibrant and bright colors. When getting some ideas, I came across a Rainbow Funfetti Dip. I wasn't really wanting to bake anything and I thought this was easy and definitely had the colors that was perfect for Trolls. This recipe was a no bake and was made by mixing together Funfetti cake mix, yogurt and cool whip. Once it's all mixed together, you separate the mixture to dye them into the colors that you are wanting. Kyrie actually made this all by herself and stuck with the classic rainbow colors. Once all dyed, she put them all together back in a bowl and had a delicious dip! We had some animal crackers, strawberries and blackberries to use. Jules didn't like it too much ( I think it was the yogurt), but the rest of us thought it was a yummy treat. I also took it the next day to Girl Scouts, since we had a ton of it, for a snack and they loved it.

Hope you enjoyed this movie as much as we did! I really enjoyed everything we had for this themed dinner! Comment below what you thought of the movie.
