Sing 2

We always wait for movies now that they are being released back in theatre to either be able to stream or at Redbox. So it took a few months before we were able to watch this one and it was highly anticipated and weekly the girls would ask, can we do Sing 2? So here we are finally watching the movie and doing our theme! I will say I liked the first one just a tad bit better, but this one was also very enjoyable. Plus all the original characters (and voices), plus some new good ones added like Bono! If you don’t know what these movies are about, well singing of course! Let’s get to it!

The main meal was fun (and simple, which I always like) and I am not sure how we landed on it, but we did. I believe it was Tyler’s idea, but also thanks to Amazon for delivering the noodles in a timely fashion. We landed on music note pasta. And you of course can do whichever pasta you like, and we landed on our chicken bacon ranch pasta that we enjoy! But basically, the noodles were music notes! They were quite small and hard to tell what exactly they are, but they were music notes. The girls thought they were fun and of course went for our Sing theme!

We called our drink the Razzle Dazzle and it was champagne with some raspberries! For the girls, we found a nonalcoholic bubbly that was very similar to ours and matched perfectly. Sometimes making the drinks for the girls to match are difficult, so when they are easy and work it’s a win!

For the dessert, I found the microphone cupcakes on Pinterest and thought they would be simple and cute! Well not so much and my biggest issue was moving them from the counter to the fridge for later. If you do make these and use the cupcake/muffin tin as it mentioned in the instructions to kept them upright, just know they fall very easily when you pick up with the tin to transport. So they looked nice and pretty until they were picked up and then they got all dented and mushed as they fell down. I dropped a couple on the ground as well. But honestly to make them it’s pretty easy. You pour some cupcake mix in the cone and bake as well as baking cupcakes in a cupcake tin. I would recommend just baking it all in the cones, so you don’t have to put them together. If you fill it up, it should bake over the top if they come to create that microphone. In my case, I had to place the second muffin upside down on top of the other, using icing to “glue” them together. You should also put these in the fridge to harden a bit so they stay together. After that, I then put more icing all around the top muffin and just dip it my sprinkles and voila microphone cupcakes. Just remember move them carefully into the fridge until you are ready to eat- don’t try to move them in the cupcake tin as they will fall over! Despite them looking a little messy, the girls really enjoyed them. And you can use what ever cake you desire, I went for confetti as my girls always like these!

Hope you enjoyed this theme dinner and movie! I know we did. The movie was cute and the food me made was easy and eaten by all! Comment below if you tried anything for your theme.
