Percy Jackson- Feast for the Goddesses

Updated: Aug 10, 2022

This weeks themed dinner turned out to be one of my favorites so far! The dinner was really simple and a few last minute crafts turned this one fit for the Gods/Goddesses. Before the themed dinner idea came into being, the girls watched Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief, so when I saw the second one become available on Disney Plus, I thought we could do a theme around it. I am going to start with the crafts that I mentioned before instead of the food. About two hours before we were going to start watching the movie, I had this great idea to make Poseidon Tridents and Olympian head wreaths. I took cardboard and tin foil as well as green paper and wire and got to work. Viola a hit! The girls wore them all evening while watching the movie and continue to play with the Tridents all week.

After doing research on food for Gods and Goddesses, they eat and drink mostly Ambrosia and Nectar. That didn’t sound like a good dinner, so we decided to do what we call nibbles or in fancy restaurants a charcuterie board. Very simple and I added a few additional things to make it a feast for the Gods/Goddesses. We also picked up a Greek salad and the dinner was complete.

For this themed drink, it too was very simple and I called it Aphrodite Elixir. It was a combination of Champange and some pomegranate/cranberry juice. Instead of champagne for the girls, they got Sprite.

The dessert idea was created by Tyler and named Don’t Look in the Eyes Medusa Pies (I thought it was clever). it was a dark chocolate pudding pie with gummy worms for Medusa hair. Girls loved the gummies but not so much the pies!

I think overall this theme was a hit and made the girls feel like Goddesses on Mount Olympus. Thanks again for reading and comment below if you could be a God/Goddess who would you be?
