Elemental

While Kyrie's themed movie dinner was The Little Mermaid, Jules's was Elemental! This was the new Disney/Pixar animated summer movie that came out. Overall, it was a cute movie. It is about a city where the Elements: fire, water, air, and land are separated to their own sections of the city. However, a problem occurs with the main character Ember’s (fire) parents restaurant in which Wade (water) comes and causes the situation then tries to help. It ultimately is a love story between the two different elemental characters.

Jules had an idea for each Element to have for this theme. The first was Fire. For the dinner, there is a scene where Wade is eating at Ember's restaurant and is served Kol-nuts, which are basically logs crunched into fire balls. So, Jules essentially came up with meatballs that came with a fiery sauce. The sauce was a mixture of a red pasta sauce with some red chili flakes. Turned out spicey! We also added some garlic bread and a salad to make the Kol-nuts a complete meal.

Jules knew exactly what to do for the land element. She wanted to place candy eyes on kiwi and I will say she was spot on with representing this element. They looked just like them but the only difference was that they had feet in the movie. It was quite funny to eat them!

Her drink was very simple- water! Wade is very fluid throughout the movie and can move within items or be contained within them as well. Jules placed googly eyes on clear glasses we had and served either regular water or carbonated water and dyed it blue.

Finally we have the element air, which is generally represented as clouds in the movie. Jules saved this element for the dessert and went also very simple with cotton candy! We picked up two different flavors that we found at the store: a cherry flavor and a candy corn flavor. Not my favorite dessert, but since it was for the theme, we all ate it.

If you need kid approved themed dinner, then this one is simple and loved by the girls! Hope you enjoy trying it. Comment below what you thought of the movie Elemental.
