Dumb and Dumber

So we wanted to watch some of the old Jim Carey movies after the girls got a taste of him when we watched Sonic the Hedgehog recently. The girls seemed to enjoy it, but got annoyed when Mom or Dad would recite the lines throughout the movie. Let's be real, who hasn't seen this movie a hundred times and can't recite the lines. Or at least sings along to Mockingbird!

The drink was really simple. We went to 7 Eleven and got Big Gulps. The girls have actually never been to 7 Eleven, mostly because we have a lot more Circle Ks or Quik Trips here and tend to stop at those places instead. The girls enjoyed it because they each got to get something from the soda fountain.

The dinner meal was a replica of the diner scene with the hitman where they are eating a meal in a dinner. Lloyd and Harry dare each other to eat an Atomic Pepper. They end up doing it at the same time and it's clearly one hot pepper. The hitman then leaves for a moment and they load his hamburger up with Atomic Peppers before he notices and gets back. The hitman takes a bite and ends up dying as they switch his heartburn medication with the Posion. It's more funny than it seems like it should be, but we decided to go with Hamburgers loaded with Atomic Peppers (and by that I mean grilled red peppers). I love grilled peppers on my burger, so this was delicious. Girls ate the peppers off the burgers, but still pretended to eat an Atomic Pepper. No mustard or ketchup though!

We all loved the look and taste of the dessert on this theme. One of the first things that pops in my mind when I think of Dumb and Dumber is the Mutt Cutt dog van they drive in. So we thought it was perfect for our cake design. Since the design was the most important part of the cake, we went with a lemon cake with raspberry filling. Kyrie did most of the decorating, I only made the icing color to match as best as we could for the van. We used whatever candy we found in the house to make the details. It turned out great and was delicious!

Hope you enjoyed r adding about this themed dinner. This is a super easy one to do as well. Comment below on what you thought! As Lloyd says in the movie outside the 7 Eleven: "Big Gulps, huh? Well see you later!"
