Black Panther Wakanda Forever

We really enjoy the Marvel movies in this house and doing themes for them. If you go back through my blogs, we have done Thor, SheHulk, Spider-Man and Dr.Strange. Black Panther was the next in the list, but stay tuned as there will be Antman and Guardians of the Galaxy coming up as well. We really enjoyed the first Black Panther and the addition of this superhero into the Marvel Universe. However, for the sequel and with the loss of Chadwick Boseman, it just wasn't the same. Nonetheless, we enjoyed doing the themed dinner, especially Kyrie, who helped make the dinner and dessert.

For the dinner we sometimes want to make more of a cultural meal, so we found a recipe for Jollof Rice and Chicken that we thought we could make. We bought all the ingredients and Kyrie followed the recipe for both the rice and the chicken. Turned out really good and something we wouldn't make normally. Also, it allowed Kyrie to get some experience in the kitchen with cutting and measuring ingredients.

The dessert was fun and pretty simple, we made T'Challa's Kimoyo bead bracelet out of chocolate Rice Krispies. The Kimoyo beads is the advanced communication technology made out of vibranium but we were all out of vibranium. We rolled the Rice Krispies into balls and then used white and blue icing for the designs on top. You can never go wrong with Rice Krispies (especially chocolate), so it was a win!

We did the drink based off the Purple Heart shape herb that was mutated with vibranium and it gets ingested by the person to become Black Panther. We mixed passion fruit vodka, sprite, purple Powerade and tonic water. Tonic water is supposed to glow, but it didn't really work for us. However, the drink was tasty! The girls had everything minus the passion fruit vodka.

Hope you enjoy reading this blog post for Black Panther. Let me know in the comments what you think about it or what you thought of the movie. Stay posted for other Marvels themes coming up!
