This was THE kids movie for the summer of 2022, I think mostly because Billie Eilish's song got stuck in your head from all the ads. But our girls actually saw it in theaters during a summer camp field trip and then when it released on Netflix a month later, we decided the girls can help come up with ideas for this theme! They immediately knew what to do for the dessert which you will see later on. It did take them a little bit for the main meal, but eventually they got something. The movie was cute, Bad Guys turned Good and the girls enjoyed watching it again!
There are 5 bad guys that get reformed: Wolf, Snake, Tarantula, Shark and Piranha. We could have done some of the Bad Guys favorite foods that were brought up in movie, but eating Guinea pigs wasn't a very good option or at least not easy to find. So the girls went very simple on the main meal, inspired by one of the Bad Guys, making Snake's Spaghetti. Can't go wrong with spaghetti and we added a salad for some veggies! Girls ate it like a snake would!
The girls used an idea from a previous theme for our drink and mixed different gatorades or Powerades to represent a Bad Guy. They choose blue for the Shark, orange for the tarantula or "webs", green for the Snake and a mixture of them to make a gray color for the Wolf! For my drink in particular, I had Cucumber Lime flavor and added some gin and lemon vodka to spice it up a bit! Wasn't too bad!
As I mentioned earlier, the girls had the dessert idea from the moment we said we were watching this movie. The push pop makes its appearance in multiple scenes in the movie, so it was hard to not have them. I will say, somehow the girls have managed to make it through life without ever having a push pop. So this was the first push pop for them and they were super excited to try them! They loved them and since it was summer, it was definitely refreshing. They ate them over the course of the next week as well since we got a variety package of them! Definitely a win.
Hope you enjoyed the theme and now have the Bad Guys song stuck in your head! Thanks for reading along and hopefully will try some of these ideas in the future!
