Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

As I mentioned before on other blog posts, the DC Universe is being revamped and most of the superheroes in this franchise will not be continued or they might revamp them all together and get recasted. This sequel Aquaman was the last in this era. The girls were really excited to watch this movie for some reason, must be a Jason Momoa thing. Overall, it was good. It took place years later with Aquaman having a wife and child and the villian, the Black Mantra, was seeking revenge for his father's death in the first movie. It had all the original cast and lots of visual effects and humor.

Since Aquaman splits his life between land and sea, what better than to have Surf N' Turf. We had steak, shrimp and lobster and because there were options, each girl at least ate something. I personally am not a big fan of seafood and honestly never had lobster before but do like crab. The lobster wasn't bad, I would definitely have it again. To go along with the steak and lobster, we had either mashed potatoes or a baked potato and a salad.

Tyler also for fun, drew on a banana and made it look like a dolphin. Got a good laugh out of the girls!

Our drink was called the Golden Trident, based off the weapon that Aquaman uses. This consisted of rum, tequila, orange juice and ginger ale. For the girls mockatil, it was minus the alcohol. Turned out to be very delicious!

It was a little hard to come up with a dessert on this one, which isn't usually the case. I eventually settled on making blue raspberry Jell-O that we still had lying around from a previous theme. I cut the Jell-O up into cubes, placed them in a glass and added some whipped cream on top. Then the girls were able to pick some gummy sea creatures and add them into it. Since Aquaman can control sea creatures it made sense. Also, Jell-O and gummies are always a winner around here so this went over well!

Overall, not a bad theme. Jules tried lobster for the first time and found out she liked it! Kyrie at least ate some of the “turf”, so everyone ate something. Movie also was entertaining! Comment below what you thought below.
