Addam’s Family

Their creepy and their kooky, Mysterious and spooky, their all together ooky, The Adams family. Now I got that song in your head, right? I do every time I hear it. We do a lot of fun themed dinners that come together, but the Halloween ones always turn out the coolest! This one, if you hadn’t guessed, was for the new animated Addams Family 2 movie. It was an entertaining movie, but not my favorite for a remake. The original one from the 90s is definitely the best and the whole family enjoys that one. So this themed dinner can be for either!

Let’s start with the appetizer, the witches fingers. I have always wanted to make these and they turned out good since the girls love anything with crescent rolls. They were super simple to make, so next Halloween I will be adding them to rotation for the season! All that is needed is to take the individual triangles in the package, roll them into a line and spread them out to get that finger shape. Then add the almond at one of the tips and bake them. Viola! You get witches fingers and like I said they were eaten up!

The Addams Family eat some strange and unusual things in the movies, so I had to come up with something like that but that the girls would actually eat. I originally thought octupus, but neither the girls nor I would eat that. Also I have no idea where to get that, so next best thing is red spaghetti with monster eye meatballs. Perfect choice and girls loved them. The meatballs were made of cut up mozzarella cheese and olives.

Kyrie has been asking for some snickerdoodles cookies lately, well she didn’t get that but I went with the cookie idea. I made double chocolate cookies with eyeballs in the them. I found a recipe and used a little more black dye to make the cookies darker, then added a ton of eyeball sprinkles on them. I love chocolate, so these cookies didn’t disappoint. Plus they were fun and spot on for the theme.

We decided to call this drink Death, only because all the family members are obsessed with it. It was a simple connection of vodka, cran-blackberry juice and lime La Croix and lined the drink rim with blackberrry jam. The non alcoholic version was cranberry juice, some sprite and lined with jam as well. The jam didn’t really add to it as much as we wanted, but there was a cool affect!

Hope you enjoyed our spooky, kooky themed dinner. Comment below which Addams Family movie you liked better!
